Witcher Franchise Sales Data Released

The developer to the Witcher franchise CD Projekt Red has announced that both of the games in the Witcher franchise have collectively sold over 4 million copies across all platforms.

This is great news for a number of reasons, it shows that developers and their respective publishers that are willing to take a chance on a new IP can perform well even if the game is released by a smaller development studio rather than one of the titans like EA or Activision. This is also a boon for eastern European games companies (CD Projekt Red is based in Poland), companies like 4A games have also been successful with Metro 2033.
