Xbox 360 Dashboard Update Coming Dec. 6

The preview program has been going on for a little while now to a select group of people and today, Major Nelson announced that the new Dashboard Update will be released “for all Xbox LIVE members will be Tuesday, December 6th.” He also specified what exact features will be present in the update:

• New personal and social features including Cloud Storage for Game Saves and LIVE Profile
• Beacons and Facebook Sharing
• Enhanced Family Settings
• Integrated voice and gesture controls across the dashboard and in apps
• Bing voice search (Available this year in the US, UK and CA)
   

Australia has yet again been left out on the voice control front, no official word as to when we will be getting Bing voice search. I’m actually really looking forward to installing the update, I’m a big fan of Microsoft’s work on the Metro UI and I am interested to see how well the Kinect will be integrated.
